36-40   This picture is thought to be taken along the side of the infants school, 1896 - 1900, at a time when Mr Ward, headmaster, would employ his young son as a monitor or teacher.  This is class 3 - there are 3 other pictures of a similar vintage in the 2002 part of the collection.

36-43   1965.  At a time when the new canteen was being established in building works at the Elm Tree Corner school, the children were moved in a procession around the corner into the old school for school dinners to be served.  There were earlier times when this was done, 1950/1 for example, but the reason is not known
