All pictures are presented at relatively low resolution.  There will be hundreds of pictures on this site - there is an economic limit to the webspace available.  The point of this presentation is that you can see for yourself the extent of the collection and return later as the collection expands - as it surely will.  Any interest in copies of a picture at a higher resolution (ie. clarity) should be directed through contacts given in the Blisworth "Round and About" parish council publication or using the comment form on the home page.  In some cases the pictures are not available due to copyright restrictions.  However, permission has been obtained, where possible, to include them here.  Printed below each image is the photographer's name, if known.

38-02    St. John's choir group who met at Victoria House c. 1914. It comprised a mix of Anglican and Baptist church singers.  Mr and Mrs Jos. Hatch (Bapt) held choral meetings (and tea) once a week, according to George Freeston.

A footnote (and pun) is to draw attention to Ivy's studded boots - being a robust and therefore economical footwear of the times.

 

 

 

 

38-06 The Rev. Kendrick and family.

Rev. Kendrick (1915 - 2008) was the first Baptist minister to preach in the Anglican Church, this being in 1951.

38-07   Rev D Snelling.  For the dates of tenure please see list.
38-09   Baptists Boys Brigade  Centre, Mr Campion of Tunnel Hill Farm, where the picture is believed to have been taken.  In 1995 GF wrote on the back that he recognised "at 84 years" Mssrs French and Clarke!  We will have to see if the daughters can confirm this.
