Freeston's Index of
Notes by the compiler - Robin Freeston: From the first issue in Summer 1975 to the January/February issue of 1999 George made regular contributions to the village magazine - in over a hundred issues. These related both to contemporary and historical events. He himself preserved these magazines and others have supplied more copies. Together with ‘The History of Your Parish Church’ 1964/75 previously serialised in the Blisworth Church News Sheet and recently digitally preserved these writings represent a great amount of George’s writings on Blisworth. They were recorded in an ephemeral form and it is only now ten years after his death that this attempt to preserve and index them has come about. This separate index will be found a valuable tool in consulting these writings where a wealth of information about Blisworth past and present is to be discovered. After consulting the index enter the appropriate reference no. in edit/search, using brackets, to find the entry in the following manner . . . example - [17] The manner of George’s signing off varies. The entries have been kept as the original except for being represented in italics. PLEASE NOTE, there are 6 copies missing: Mar/Apr 1980 Nov./Dec.1986 Jan./Feb.1987 Mar./Apr.1987 Sep./Oct. 1995, May/Jun.1999. If any of these happen to come to light I would beg the loan or gift of them to help make this collection complete. This Link opens the Compilation in a separate Tab
